Journey map

Before

Doing - Becky is waiting in the printer queue and sees other students engaging with the R&R colouring wall. She decides she might as well join in as this is turning out to be a long wait!

Feeling - She has had a morning of technical problems and is feeling tired and frustrated but when she starts colouring in she finds that the creative distraction is refreshing and inspiring.

Experience - She feels inspired and empowered as she has found a new colour palette for her poster she is currently designing. Because of this her mood has changed and she is feeling energised, and now understands the purpose of the wall and reads the extra information about the new creative space at Massey called R&R.

During

Doing - After a long day at uni Becky decides to go and find out more about the space and is welcomed at the door by a R&R helper, who introduces her to the space.

Feeling - Once Becky is familiar with the space she feels relaxed as the environment is easy going and completely different from her classroom. She feels welcomed, supported and engaged by the space and is excited to return during her breaks at uni.

Experience - After her initial tour of space she settles down with a cup of tea and joins the large table in the middle of the room and finds a piece of play dough to sculpt. She engages in conversations with the people around her and they laugh together at their amateur figures they have created especially as they are design students.

After

Doing - As Becky leaves the space the R&R helper prompts her to check out the spaces Facebook and Instagram page. She finds on the Facebook page information about the R&R app and decides to download it and shares the Facebook page to her friends who want to know more about the space. The app prompts her to consider her work life balance and how she is feeling in general. The app helps her to set some simple goals to improve her everyday well being.

Feeling - Becky is feeling informed by the her results but shocked at how bad her work life balance is. From this information she sets goals for herself that she feels are achievable and fit comfortably around her schedule.

Experience - The app is simple, clear and easy to follow which makes understanding and improving her work life balance effortless. Becky is prompted to come back into the space the next day to fulfil one of her goals. Before she gets to uni she checks out what is happening in the space by using the calendar and builds her break times around that. Becky hits a wall in her design work and decides to check out the Facebook and Instagram page to see a what is happening right now in the space.
